What is a Control Diagram?

Control diagrams are used to monitor and control processes in order to identify variations caused by specific causes.
It is also applied to evaluate the impact of process improvement activities on the change of variations.

What Do Control Diagrams Do?

- A control diagram is an effective diagram for separating recurring causes from special causes of variability.
- Recognizing patterns and knowing what they mean from your process is a key to finding the cause of special causes.
- By noticing patterns seen in certain types of controls, special causes of variability are identified.
