What Are Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN) Based Semiconductors?

SiC and GaN semiconductors are materials that produce high-frequency circuit components capable of withstanding high temperatures and voltages. They are increasingly preferred in power electronics, telecommunications, and advanced defense industry applications.

Why?

Silicon-based chips lose efficiency at high temperatures. SiC and GaN-based chips provide higher energy efficiency and generate less heat.
This increases system reliability and reduces cooling requirements. Additionally, devices using these materials can be designed to be more compact and lightweight.
