What is JIT Production?
It is a production method that ensures that materials and components are provided and used in the production process at the exact moment they are needed and in the exact quantity required.
Basic Principles of JIT Production
- It aims to keep stock levels to a minimum. This means that products or components are produced according to customer demand and only when needed.
- Flexible production processes require the flexibility of production lines and workforce to respond quickly to changes in demand.
- It aims to improve the quality of production processes, as poor quality products or services and mistakes increase waste and costs.
- Encourages cooperation and trusting relationships throughout the supply chain; close collaboration with suppliers ensures timely and quality supply of materials.

A system that prevents defective parts from entering the production flow and interrupting production in subsequent processes.
