Chiplet Technology: A New Era in High-Performance Processors

What Is Chiplet Technology?

Chiplet technology is a microchip design approach that, unlike traditionally monolithic processors produced as a single piece, assembles multiple small and specialized chips (chiplets) into a single system.

Why?

Traditional processor manufacturing processes are becoming increasingly complex and costly. Chiplet technology increases production efficiency while allowing chips with different functions to be integrated into a single system. It offers significant advantages in areas such as artificial intelligence, high-performance computing (HPC), and autonomous systems.

How?

Modular Chip Design: Small chips with different functions are optimized for specific tasks and integrated into a single processor.
Heterogeneous Integration: Processors, memory components, and specialized accelerators are combined within the same package to produce faster, more energy-efficient chips.
Interconnect Technologies: Advanced 2.5D and 3D packaging methods optimize communication between chiplets and minimize latency.
